General

We like working with companies of varying sizes and have experience of working with both very small high street shops to setup some marketing support and large businesses supporting their existing marketing teams. We’d love to work with either!
Yes, if 2019 taught us anything, it’s that businesses can travel across the seas thanks to video calling.
The name activ was as relevant when the business was formed in 2008 as it is now. We operate within an ever-changing market place. The principles and tactics of digital marketing are also constantly evolving and improving. As a team we are passionate about moving with the times and actively ensuring all relevant developments are incorporated within our services, so you, the client, doesn’t have to worry about a thing.

Yes. If you are VAT registered then you can claim back the VAT paid as part of your business. Registering for VAT is a business decision and you should consult your accountant for advice about this.

Website

This is dependent on your requirements and the size of the website you’d like to build. A small brochure website can take just a few weeks if we have everything we need, whereas if you want a full online e-commerce site with 1000 pages then it can take longer.
We’d be happy to look at designing your website if the investment makes good business sense for you. Let’s chat and see what changes are needed.
Yes, we build our websites in WordPress which is a widely used content management system and we’re happy to provide a full handover with training for you and your team.
Absolutely, we won’t leave you high and dry! We’re here for ongoing website maintenance and support if you need us – you decide.
Yes, of course. All of our websites are fully responsive to all devices, whatever they might be viewed on.>

Our basic website costs can be found by filling in our quick quote form on the website. For larger, more bespoke projects, please contact the team.

Yes, we can migrate your website to WordPress without a hitch whilst ensuring you don’t lose search engine visibility.
Our websites are based on our UK servers that have been picked for their reliability and security. Our servers provide exceptional speed ensuring that users are delivered content quickly and utilise a web application firewall to ensure use is secure. In addition, all plans come with an SSL certificate to heighten security and software is updated weekly along with 30 days of backups should they be needed.

No. Each and every website is individual and designed to meet the client’s brief, so we are a web design agency who don’t use templates.

Generally speaking, you will be heavily involved in providing content for your website. However, we do provide a copywriting service so you can be fully supported in this if you wish. Imagery, video and branding will often also need to be provided if we are not supporting you with branding work.

SEO

Yes, our team are experts in their field and whether you have a bespoke built site or standard WordPress creation then we can help you with search engine optimisation.
No, we cannot guarantee this with SEO. It’s a constantly changing process and how Google evaluates content will often be a moving target. You should aim for measurable increased traffic that drives people the goal defined areas of your website. This is what will convert to a lead or a sale and what we will focus on with our service.
With a strong plan in place you can expect to start seeing improving results from 3-6 months. It’s a long-term investment and one that will ebb and flow with your business. If your website has been well-established for a long time then you might see results slightly quicker than that.
SEO takes a piece of content on your website (whether a standard web page or an article) and optimises it by filling it with keyword search terms to make it more likely for that web page to appear higher in a Google search result.

PPC

Pay-per-click is an internet advertising model designed to drive more traffic to your website. An advertiser (your business) pays a publisher (Google) when someone clicks on their advert. This allowed online businesses to appear at the top of search engine results.
Like everything we do here at activ, we will work within your budget. It can depend on the marketplace that you operating in and how competitive it is as to what budget we recommend using.
One of the main benefits of PPC is that it provides very fast feedback. Once your advert goes live, you will immediately start getting website traffic. Campaign results are visible enough to be edited as we go to ensure you’re getting the most for your money.

Social Media

We provide support for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Google. If you require bespoke support, please contact us.
This is a very good question! Just because you own a business doesn’t mean you should have a social media page on every channel in existence! You need to asses the right channels for you based on your business and target audience. We can help you do this along with setup, optimisation and ongoing management.
Absolutely, yes, paid social media advertising can really help to boost your social channels depending on what you business goals are.
Yes, of course. We offer a fully managed influencer option whether you’re looking for restaurant reviews or trying to sell a new pair of shoes. Please contact us to find out more about this service.

Digital Business Card

Our digital business card has been designed using QR code technology that, once scanned, will automatically add a business contact straight into your phone. It does away with the need to retain thousands of paper / card business cards in your wallet or all over your desk. Not to mention the helping hand to the environment.
You can pop it in email signature, print it on materials or even print it on a business card if you prefer to work with traditional methods.
